This was a scam on Craigs List in Chicago — I saw a posting on Craig's list for a teacup yorkie - she indiwith 0cated that she was out to adopt them out and not sell them. She described the puppy - and indicated that the only fee would be a shipping fee. At first she indicated that and only a fee of $148 for the crate would be necessary. We corresponded back and forth and I decided on Molly, She started the arrangements on her end. I received an email from what was supose to be Sy-West Pets Air USA Canda - 206.634.9524 - or 23798619103 or email shkywest. Airline. [email protected] - requesting $ 163 dollars for the crate - The puppy was suppose to be registered with the airlines 09532817 and 48541M - microchip #ISO 10586 - the money transfer was to be made out to David Staley in Portland, OR 92730 - I Western Union the money (7963916294) in the amt of $191 (WU fee included). Less than an hour later, I receivd an email from the same shkywest. Airline. [email protected] indicating that my puppy was at the airport but needed an insurane and transfer ownership of documents and it would cost $1,100 for transfer of ownership (250) insurance for puppy (850) - however, 95% of the money would be returned to me once I picked up the puppy. This was to prevent abandoment, etc of puppy David Staley, Insurance Park 101, Portland, OR 97230 was to be the receiver once again. They wanted another $200 upon arrival of the puppy. Thank you, George Morgan, Secretary, Scarlet Stanfield - (Personal Info Removed). I contacted joy roland the seller of the puppy and told her that this was not possible - as I didn't have this kind of money. She said that she would put up her diamond rings as half of the payment, if I could get the rest. I told her that I could not. I called the airlines at this point, and was told that this was a fraud, and to contact, Western Union (done), Craig's List, Internet Crimes (done), FTC (done), your office (now done), I also contacted the FAA (as he mentioned that he was with an airline. I emailed her back and informed her that I know that this is a scam and have reported her and this David to authorities. She came back and said that I was basically a terrible person and how could I do this to Molly (dog's name). I emailed her that you said that the only fee was the shipping fee and no other fee was ever mentioned. I told her that I called the airlines, and she indicated that the puppy was with a private carrier, etc, and that she dealt with them all the time. Why, than did you not tell me about the additional fees in advance? No answer. Also, her posting has been pulled from Craigs List. As well as the insurance fraud
