Empty promises, lack of integrity, lies, lack of concern, fraud, lied to our insurance company

We have a home insurance policy of which Ideal is under contract. Today is the SIXTH day in which we have been trying to get the heat repaired in my condo. The heat went out 12/22, the insurance notified Ideal late 12/22 that it was an emergency call. As expected, Ideal called Friday 12/23 and we set up out service call for between 2:30-5:30pm. I had to work so my father came over to wait for the repair person. This is where all the problems, lies, and complete lack of integrity became apparent. As of 5:30pm neither I nor my father had heard from Ideal. They were to call when they were on their way so that I could notify my father. I called Ideal and they called the repairman to find out what was going on. He was running behind and we were given the option of waiting another hour or so or rescheduling for the next day. We opted to wait. About an hour later the repairman, Mike, called to let me know he was on his way. I spoke to my father about an hour later and he told me everything

Mike told him (there is a long story there, as well) and we needed replacement parts. Mike allegedly sent all the information to our insurance company regarding the parts needed and promised he would call in the morning and I would have heat once again. My father stated he felt very good about Mike and truly believed everything would be resolved on Saturday 12/24. I should also mention that my father specifically asked Mike to verify that Ideal would be open Christmas Eve and he (Mike) would be working... Mike assured him that yes they were working regardless of the holiday. My father also requested that if he called me and I did not answer to please call him. That way we were certain there was no way to miss the service phone call. Mike promised to call no later than 9 am on 12/24.

The condo temperature was now at 65 degrees. As of Noon on 12/24 neither I nor my father had heard from Mike or Ideal. I called Mike's cell phone and received voice mail. I left a message asking he please just let me know what was going on.By 2pm there was still no call back. My father called Mike and got his voice mail... He asked that Mike please call us back.

Several hours went by still no response, so my father calls again and gets Mike's voice mail again. There was also no response from Ideal. Evidently the heat would not be repaired as promised. Sunday 12/25 Ideal was closed.

Monday 12/26 my father called Ideal and our insurance company. The insurance company was astounded by the treatment we received from Ideal and said they would call Ideal themselves. Ideal promised that they would fix the issue. Allegedly the owner of Ideal claimed that Mike was picking up the parts and on his way to my condo to fix the heat (a lie). Again by early afternoon we had heard nothing more. My father called the insurance company and they spoke to the owner of Ideal who assured that someone would be out to fix my heat that day. As of 7:30pm my father and myself resigned ourselves to the fact that I was to go without heat another day and Ideal had no intention of fixing the heat.

Today, 12/27,8am, my father called our insurance company to relay the news that Ideal never showed or called. They were beyond astounded and called Ideal again. Ideal allegedly again promised someone would be out to repair the heat. It is 11:30am and I am leaving for work shortly; my father is waiting for a call from Ideal so he can come over and wait for them (they were once again instructed that we need 1/2 hour notice so my dad can come over). Our insurance company gave my dad the name of the woman they spoke to at Ideal; my dad called Ideal and was told that no one by that name worked there and that they had NOT spoken to our insurance company! Of course myself, my dad, and even our insurance company do not expect a phone call from Ideal. We (myself, dad and the insurance) are planning to have a different contractor come out tomorrow 12/28 to fix my heat. We know now that Ideal has no intention of following through with their promises and have absolutely no concern for a customer that has been without heat for six days in the middle of winter.
