E-harmony online dating: I met a guy who was a US Army soldier in Iraq and we talked for a few months via eharmony and private emails, chat talk of love and a life time together. Traveling onleave back to the states, he stopped in a country called Ghana and was mugged, beaten, robbed and ended in a hospital there and needed some help monetarily till he got back home mentioning he would pay me back. I suggested he talk to the US Embassy or his superiors for help. He said no one knew he was there and if they did he would be in serious trouble with the Army. Over a year we spoke and carried on like a serious romantic couple, but never having met.
I was really STUPID and not vilgilant, but hesitant to admit I lost thousands of dollars for supporting a long distance love based on lies, scams, and using promises of love to manipulate a too trusting woman. I got into serious financial trouble with banks, credit cards, life savings, etc to be swooned by an Imposter and Scammer.
