I recieved a phone call telling me they represented window's and that my computer had sent a number of problems reports to them and it was about to crash they asked for remote access to my computer which I eventually did give them access but watched every move they made to stop them if they tried to access any of my private details. They then showed me a number of files that were corrupted and also that my computer was about to crash but also my warrenty was out of date so I would need to pay for their help and was talked into paying for a liftime service cover for the lifetime of my computer after paying on line with my credit card it was late so I had to end the connection for that day I felt that somthing was wrong so I contacted window's helpline asking about Cyber Astro LTD and was informed that they did use there services so I felt much better I also contacted the bank to check that only the amount of money I had authorised was being withdrawn and was informed that this was so. I felt I had made my best effort to try and see if I was being scammed and was not at that time. We had made arrangements for them to ring me at 9:00am the next day and they did make this contact but the man stated that they were having problems getting their money from Cyber Astro LTD and had instucted them to refund me my money but because of this could I pay then again through another payment method this did start alarm bells going off in my head so I made an excuse to end the connection and for them to ring me later. I then rang the bank to check on the refund story no refund had been made. When they rang again they stated that I was going to be refunded and until Payed again they would not do the work I insisted they did as I was not responcible for them not getting their money I had payed as instructed by them so I was entiteled to the service I had payed for they then broke contact and I have had no further contact but the money has still been payed. I have been retired on Ill health from my nursing post and can not afford the loss of this money but my computer is very important to me it contains many family memories pictures and video's of present and past family and friends and I did not want to lose them so I fell for the scam, but I do feel that I was let down by Window's and my bank by them not letting me know that this company has a long history of these scams reading all the other people who have been through this scam lets hope someone reading this is aware of the scam before they can do it again and it helps them!!!
