Bathroom floors are flooded with toilet overflow to the point that your pant bottoms become soaked with the soiled water. Beds are metal springs with blow-up mattresses and pillows. Hallway floors and walls are covered in congealed or splattered human urine and vomit. The environment is so distressing that the patient is overwhelmed by the filth of their surroundings rather than being able to focus solely on their sobriety. Meals consist of barely edible items that are tasteless, pre-packaged and often unidentifiable with the choice of kool-aid filled with too much sugar or milk only to drink. The staff is supportive. The counseling is helpful. The lack of cleanliness however can only lead to illness or infection and should be reported IMMEDIATELY to any agency that is responsible for maintaing health code standards.
