I am reporting this after already having contacted the Manager/Owner (not sure) by filling out an online complaint form on 24 Hr. Fitness website. The complaint was how dirty and filthy the women's locker-rooms were the evening I filed the report. I received a reply with an apology within a day or so and was told that the cleaning staff (which is scheduled to clean once a day) didn't show up due to some health issue.
I have noticed that this location is busy virtually day and night... They must have a good 300 or so clients that use the facility a lot. I am very worried about spreading diseases (especially given the high risks of all kinds of diseases being spread by lack of good hygiene) and I know that a facility that has a high amount of usage like 24 Hr. Fitness has could be a potential hazzard for spreading illnesses needlessly.
Here are a list of things I notice virtually every time I go there:
Mold growing in the shower heads. There are 7 shower stalls (one with a door that is off so it is not used and one with a door that won't shut so it is not used as often as the remaining 5). Mold growing in the grout of the shower stall floors and lower walls. Constant clumps of hair in the shower drains and floors. The smell... Dirt/sweat mix... in the shower room and womens dressing area.in some of the shower stalls there are working soap dispensers and some that are broken, on the floor or not maintained. The toilet stalls are rarely maintained. The toiletpaper dispensers sometimes fall apart (they are not properly locked or are broken) and are not kept filled. The floors in all the rooms (shower, toilet & dressing areas) are usually dirty w / debris on the floor (hair bands, paper, HAIR, and other bits of trash) and the mirrors and walls are dirty and rarely kept looking nice.
I feel dirty even after I leave from showering. It is disgusting! The management needs to spend more money on having cleaning staff CLEAN (using real cleaning products) at LEAST 3 times a day!!! I refuse to use the pool, hot-tub and saunas because I can only imagine how unsafe those areas are!!!
Something needs to be done!!! Health hazzard just waiting!!!
