Back in August I got tricked into a by Central Reward, by way of a reward offer by them that I got when I called Casio. Agree to their offer of a voucher "authorized" them to put me on a five year payment for junk.
About a week ago, I noticed unexplained charges by Central Rewards to my bank account (through debit)
—Yesterday: (10/20) Called "Central Rewards" and learned about the 5 year plan that I supposedly agreed to (and without the chance to ever cancel any part of along the way.)
—Today called and got this info:
How did I enter the Rewards System:
"By a sales call offering you a $200 voucher which you agreed to. You failed to call back and cancel within 7 days."
"We sent welcome info in the mail, terms and conditions, etc."
&Looked at this briefly, but didn't notice 7 day trial or 5-year plan. Called back to cancel something connected with this, but apparently not the right thing

what authorized this plan?
"recording of you agreeing to terms and conditions over phone, signed you on plan"
-I don't remember hearing such a recording explaining the terms, and certainly not including a 5 year plan
-never signed anything
"you exceeded 7 day trial"
—Seven day trial! Since talking on the phone or since receiving the letter in the mail. What if the letter had gotten lost in the mail with an error accidentally made on the address, etc.? What if I had had unexplained business, pulling me from home for a week or (if the trial was seven days since talking to them) even three days?

Make sure you have a pen though because its about 3 #s they give you."

"When I called to cancel that ridiculous magazine subscription they told me I had to pay a $369.00 cancellation fee." "don't do it! When i called and asked how they got my number, the foreign rep said that it was from some kind of research company. When i asked what company HE represented, he said "central rewards". I then told him i'd call back after researching his company... That's when he just hung up on me! Obviously it's a scam!"

"Yes, they charge you the 2.95. Yep, no big deal, not going to break the bank, but to get the gas vouchers you have to agree to the crap on the message, because if you don't you won't get them. However, i was told on the phone by the Indian guy that I would have 30 days to cancel, but it says on the recording that you only have 7 days— so watch out! You barely have enough time to get that stupid package— which is just the entertainment savings books that schools sell for way cheaper as fund raisers and the one they send you is chinsy as hell. Anyways, total I got charged the 2.95 "processing fee" or whatever it is, 25.00 confirmation fee from Central Rewards and then the lovely folks tacked on a 49.95 for some magazine subscription s*t that isn't even mentioned!"

Unfortunately, when I reply STOP to opt out of these things, it does no good. Each time, the text msg with an amazing offer comes from a different number. All of them lead back to "Central Rewards" "

Nishantj - 14 Dec: "i am a fool, i accepted their terms and condition, which i was berely able to understand, they promised that after 2$ they will not charge me anything, but they signed me up automatically to some megazine and bull s*t, and now they have sent me 100$ bill, when i said that i want to cancel and i dont know when i did signup with you, they are saying first pay your past due amount then we can cancel."
