In applying for jobs via Craigslist, I came in contact with a woman named "Jamie P" who said she needed a personal assistant and was willing to pay $500 per week if I ran errands and completed what seemed like ridiculously easy tasks. Because the job seemed like a steal, I hopped on it. My "first assignment" was to accept a cashier's check in the amount of $2946, take my "weekly fee" of $500 out of it and mail the rest to "David Young at 14 Colonel St.in Deira, Dubai, United Arab Emirates" for art supplies. After talking with an accountant friend (unfortunately I had already mailed the check on Wednesday 10/12) I realized that there was no way the check couldn't have been counterfeit I was a victim of mail / internet fraud.
