I used to buy from Hale bob, from their USA web without any problems. I bought in dollars, paid in dollars and that was it. At present, when their system detects that you are in an European location they redirect you to the European Web of Hale Bob where the prices are in Euros.
Since I never experimented problems with them, and though they were honest, I did not bother to check the difference in prices from Dollars to Euros and simply bought a dress which they announce to cost 314 Euros, thinking that it will be its equivalence in dollars. And for which I ended paying 491 Dollars = 366,88 Euros
In their USA web, the same dress is announced for 260 DOLLARS which is aprox. 194 EUROS, but as I said I did not bother to check the exchange rate they were applying.
After having realized the enormous rip-off they did with this item, I wrote a note of complaint to them, without having ever any answer or explanation. I believe they are applying abusive exchange rates and I do not question whether it is legal or not, but at least they should have given a response to my query.
I am a usual internet shopper, and even in big brands like Louis Vuitton or other brands, you can see that the prices in USA dollars and in Euros are almost equivalent with small differences, this is the usual practise.
I do not intend to buy anything else from Hale Bob. I am totally disappointed with the brand.
