Complaint / Review
American Grant Department 200 Indepence Ave Southwest Washington
Consumer Report

I got a call saying I was qualified for a 5,000 dollar grant and that i have been selected from over thousands of candiates. So they first said that there going to send the money in the mail. Then I was like, "hey might as well put it in my banking account". SO I told the Lady, Cadiance Johnson I believe was her name, said that it was going to be processed in my banking account. OK, SWEET! No charge. Then she said the next day that I was going to have to put money down specifially $199.00. Then she said it would take a minute after i put the money in. Then she told me to call her manager, his name was Chris. Chris had told me that I would have to pay $435.00 to be able to get the process completed because the state of Arizona has taxes for that stuff. Then he said " Just give me a few minutes and i'll get the money transfered." OK, SWEET! Finally all over. Btw, why would you have to pay money to get a grant. A grant is money that you get from the government and dont have to pay it back. A "LOAN" is something you borrow and give back. So, as I wait on the phone, he said to finish the processing I would have to call the IRS. Ok... I called the IRS, a guy named Steve said I had $1500 that I owe. I had no intention that I owed this ALREADY from being in college for a month and a half. A unsubsatized load was grated to me and im going to pay that off AFTER college. My big problem is that they kept contradicting themselves and told me different things and none of the money is refundable. They led me on really good. Please help. Thank you. The attached files are the reciets of what I paid and will not recieve unless something happens.
