PowerProfiles.com scammed me and has ripped off many other people.in August PowerProfiles.com took my name and cell phone number to create a phony business and "profile" it on their website. Type in my last name in a Google search, and this nonexistent business—with my phone number—appears near the top.
PowerProfiles does this to force people to go to the website and try to fix the problem. They invite you to "edit your profile" — i.E., to try and erase the fraud. Surprise! They charge $30 to fix the mess they created. Plus, to fix the error they demand that you fill out a 2-page application, complete with your credit card information, business filings, and more personal info so they can rip you off even more. The also suggest that you become a "premium member" and pay hundreds of dollars.
I own a business and need my phone number and name to be associated with MY business only; not with a sham LLC set up by PowerProfiles to blackmail me. The company did not respond to requests to remove my information. I filed a complaint with the Montana Department of Justice Consumer Protection office.
