BEWARE all new residents of Jacksonville Florida DO NOT BUY A HOME FROM D.R. HORTON!
Our problems started the day we moved in we noticed that the carpet in the formal living room had a seam showing from one wall to the other and that it was not done very well, we of course being dec and trying to get everything moved in and get ready fro cristmas with our children decided that it could wait till after the new year to contact them an have them come out and look at it to get it fixed never thinkng that they would not honor there warrenty.
Well january came and we contacted them to have them come and look at the rug (jan11) needless to say I got the run around for over a month and a half before I could even get someone to come and look at it! (many phone calls) Well the man can out and told us that it looked like a manufatures defect and that he could not fix it that they would be in contact with us about having it fixed, weeks later again after many phone calls and alot of yelling got a phone call saying that they would have to get a outside contractor to come out and look at the rug and he would decide who was to blame.
Another 3 weeks go by and final I get a phone call to set up a appointment for this man to come and look at the rug, he comes and will not answer any questions that I ask him and asked alot of questions about how many people live in th house what kind of vacum we use and what about pets, I tell him that I have 5 people living in the house and we have 2 dogs one is a puppy 8 months old now. He does some tests and thn leaves, I get a letter 2 weeks later saying that the rug defect is from my puppy urinating on the rug (laugh, laugh)
My puppy may have urinated 2-3 times by it was cleaned the minute it was done we own a steam cleaner, I called back to D.R. Horton and explained this to them and they told me that they would not fix the problem because the puppy had caused it. I found this very difficult to beleive and called many carpet company asking them if they had ever hear of this and all but 1 said no it was inpossible. The 1 that said it could happen said it would take many years of a puppy urinating in the same spot for this to happen so I called back to D.R. Horton and spoke to Kirk again aout this and he just said that they would not be fixing th problem period!!!
I asked him about getting someone to come and look at my windows because I have mold growing in almost all of them (on the inside of house) and he told me that in florida that was normal and that I needed to be wiping down my windows weekly to avoid this problem! I told him that I would like to have someone come and look at the windows and have yet to hear back about it. This is just a few of the problems I hae encountered with this company I could go on for hours but to cut it short wrong window in front, wrong color on house and the wanted me to pay to fix these problems laugh laugh! Just Beware of this company and there sneaky ways!!
