I received an email from a friend asking for $2000 as she misplaced her purse after arrival in Spain. She needed money to pay the motel and her flight back. I emailed her back and stated that I would try to help her if she could not get help from her family or someone else. She emailed me back stating to urgently go to Western Union and gave me her mailing address. I had a funny feeling as I didn't think that would be the way she would ask for money - and why me as we were grade school friends and seldom see each other anymore. Just communicate by email. I had called a friend of mine and she said NO NO NO - do not send it. This type of scam is on TV, etc. So I called the friend that was asking for the money and she told me that someone had taken all of her email addresses. So I emailed the scammer back and told him to try someone else - that just did not sound like my friend.
