Swipebid.com & Grabswag
Consumer Report

I went to the website to see what it waqs all about. However, in order to see the site and what products were available. I had to make a user name & password. Also, a credit card in case I wanted to start bidding when I entered the site. I didn't see anything of interest at that time. Only credit points that you bid on in order to bid on a MP3 player or some other electronic that everybody was bidding as soon as it got to 3 seconds left it would jump to 15 or 20 seconds left. (I don't remember the specifics, but you get the idea).
The next day I was checking my bank account on line, like I do every day. I saw the $159.00 membership fee from swipebids. Wow did they get that name right. (swipe). I called them up and spoke to a rep who was very kirt & said I should have read the T & C completely. I ask for a refund. I was told that I would have to fill out a form from their website, fill it out. Attach a copy of my bank statement showing the charges. Mail it to the address provided. Once they received the documents it would be 30 days before they would process a credit. I went thru all that they required and mailed with a signature return card from the post office. I received that back about a week later. Mark my calendar for 30 days. Did not receive a refund. I tried to call the same number that I had used some 45 days ago. The number was no longer in service. Tried to go to their website to contact them thru e-mail. Their website was no longer available. I figured I was out $159. (I don't remember the date. I know I have in a file somewhere. I will dig for it. I wanted to respond here ASAP. I had almost forgot about it.
Until I ran across Grabswag. (07-25) I thought it might be the same outfit with a different name. Well I did the same thing again. I read the T & C. No where did I find a charge to sign up to gain access to their site. They claimed to have a BBB top rating. So I got hooked for $99 this time. I called the rep said it was in the T & C I strongly dis agreed so she stated that because I didn't see it, she coould only refund me $49 and I could keep the 10 Bonus chips. I agreed, thinking it was more that I received from Swipebid & I figured shame on me for getting hooked again. A expensive lesson learned.
