This company (Prudential Insurance of America) collected my premium for LTD insurance for years. Once I got hurt at work, they initially paid me (which I assumed an insurance policy should do) but later requested that I pay every cent paid to me be paid back to them. They paid me $26,268.82 in LTD then threatened me into repaying them back $9,567.00 over a six month period once Social Security paid me. According to them, I wasn't entitled to both SSA and LTD. This was prior to finding out from an Insurance Attorney that their logic was flawed and it was illegal for them to even ask for the funds back as long as my premium was up-to-date and paid when the accident/injury occured. Furthermore, his conclusion that I should be reimbursed for the amount I have paid them but need legal representation in order to fight this injustice—the attorney I conversed with is located in Biloxi which is a much longer drive for me than to Jackson.in any case, I immediately stopped paying Prudential once I consulted with this Insurance Attorney. Now, I'm seeking legal representation to not only get the funds I paid to them back but to stop them from terminating my insurance as well which is suppose to last for a lifetime. Seven medical professionals have stated my bulging disc problem is a permanent one that will only get worse over time. Obviously, Prudential has an in-house doctor who is trying override the decisions of my doctors and to get my policy terminated. I need assistance in getting my money back and keeping my LTD policy active. I'm 99.9% sure that their actions (and insurance policy) are fraudulent/illegal but I need some help proving it. I can't get any attorney to touch it. Once I mention it has to do with fighting an insurance company, they totally shutdown on me. I haven't gotten a return call from any lawyer I have contacted to date. It seems the lawyers, as well as the State of Mississippi, are in bed with the big insurance companies and have absolutely no interest in helping those who have been defrauded.
