I needed a water heater replaced and chose this company out of the phone book because they advertise "free estimates on installations." I needed a free estimate because I am a senior citizen on a very limited income. They came and looked at the water heater for about two minutes, then wrote up an estimate for the cost to install a new one. The price quoted was far beyond my ability to pay, so I could not have them install the water heater.
They then told me that it would be a $72 charge for a "service call" — I did not call them for a "service call", I called them for a FREE estimate! The technician explained that it is only free if you pay for them to do the installation (the $72 is deducted from the over all bill). This seems like a bait and switch scam, and it is unfair to take advantage of an elderly woman on a fixed income like this. They forced me to pay $72 for a "free estimate" because I could not afford to pay the price they quoted.
