Ordered a dinette set online from a company called Furniture Buzz in Savannah, GA on July 27th. I paid with my American Express card and the transaction went through. Apparently, the business CLOSED DOWN on August 10th, and is now unavailable to customers they owe refunds to. I've filed a dispute of the charges through American Express, but if the company has already gone bankrupt and has no assets, I'm unsure if American Express can proceed with the charge back. Do you know if there any type of action that can be taken against this company to obtain the refund I am owed?
They should be brought up on criminal charges. They knowingly accepted my payment (along with many others, from what I'm learning now) with absolutely no intentions of sending the products we paid for. According to the local News in Savannah, GA and the Better Business Bureau investigations, they have been taking money from customers since at least May and not shipping any of the orders or refunding any payments made for those orders. This is a blatant case of fraud and I'd like to take legal action against them for taking my money under false pretenses.
