Six months ago, I was hired to do an article on basketball culture in Toronto. After having put in the research, work, and personal expenses, I was promised a fee of $150U.S. And a copy of the magazine with my article. My article appears in the magazine, but I have yet to receive any compensation for my work. If anything, the editor at Dime, Patrick Cassidy, refuses to return my emails and set me off by saying that he lost my personal information. After having provided him the necessary information, I have yet to receive any payment. All I ever wanted was to be paid fairly for this assignment, which, ironically, is below a standard freelance writing fee. This posting, then, is a warning about Dime and their unprofessional tactics.
