Liars who don't produce goods and take your money

I went to Kaufman's Wedding World on 7/25/03 and purchased two bridesmaid dresses and a pair of shoes to wear on a cruise 1/04/04-01/11/04. My shoes came in rather quickly and they did call to let me know that they were there. I didn't go pick them up cause I figured I would wait to get them when I tried on my dress.

I called in October to check on them cause I hadn't heard anything about my dresses. They told me they weren't in yet that some maufactures take a long time. They would be in sometime in November.

The first week of December I stopped in the Lancaster store to find out the status of my order. The told me it still wasn't it but it should be any day now.

After numerous phone calls that weren't returned I was really starting to worry because I knew both dresses had to be altered yet and I didn't even have them. They finally called on 12/23/03 and said that one of my dresses had arrived.

The lady says to me I can setup an appointment for two weeks to come and try it on. Two weeks and I was going to be in the Caribbean wearing the dress! She says to me that I could come right over and they would see me. So I did just that.

I get there and am putting on my dress in the dressing room and I hear the two seamtresses talking outside the dressing room. The one said " What are you doing?" and the other responded " I don't know some emergency fitting!" That just about did it. They want to talk about me where I can hear them after they messed up.

I reported that to the manager who would assure me that she was disciplined. I would imagine that she was cause the next time I went in which was 12/31/03 she was just down right rude to me.

I asked before I left if they had any idea where my other dress was which they didn't know. On 1/2/04 I called again and asked about my dresses and they had told me "Rita" the district manager drove all the way to Harrisburg to get some dresses in my size to see if I would want any of those.

Rita calls my house at 1/2/04 9:30 pm to tell me to come to the store to see them. I was leaving for the airport 1/3/04 @ 4:30 pm. I called the store back and told them that if they couldn't produce the dress I ordered then I wanted my money back.

The manager told me to mail the original receipt back to her and she would start the process. So I copied the receipt and put it in the mail before we left for the airport.

She said it takes 8 weeks to process a refund check. It took them 5 seconds to charge my credit card! She said they are not capable of crediting my credit card they must process a check.

The other day 3/18/04 I stopped by the store to ask about my refund and the manager doesn't even know who I am. After I refreshed her memory she says to me that she thought it was all taken care of. She tells me she doesn't have any of the paperwork for the refund. Luckily, I was smart enough to copy the receipt before I mailed it the first time! So I went right home and faxed the receipt to the the store manager Dori. I called immediately after I faxed it to make sure she received it.

On 3/25/04 I called again since another week has passed to see if she knew anything because she NEVER returns phone calls. She told me that Rita was checking into it and they would get a fax when corporate processed the refund. If corporate sends faxes notifying them, shouldn't she have known it wasn't taken care of?

Well, in July it will be a year since I made that purchase and they never found my one dress I ordered and paid for, I still haven't received my money back for the dress and all they do is lie when you call for answers. Where does this leave me?
