Complaint / Review
McKinsey and Company / Garry. [email protected]
Consumer Report

I found a car on cars.com, emailed the seller who emailed me back using email address Garry. [email protected], with a full explanation of the vehicle, including multiple pictures. I began a transaction with him, using McKinsey and Company, (in which the seller had created a fake link that legitimized the process). I sent a deposit of $2700 using Western Union, and after receiving the payment the (fake) McKinsey and Company support agent, responded and said once the vehicle has been shipped, i would receive a tracking number (fake) and then I would need to make a second deposit of $2700. I received my (fake) tracking number and tracked the vehicle with a (fake website FSA-Auto-INC). Once I did not receive the vehicle, I started to gain suspicion and began doing as much background searching as I could on the seller and the websites provided, only to find them either deleted or non responsive. I googled the KBB link, and found a forum that had many people discussing different scams. I found a post that was word for word the email that the seller had sent me. Stating that he had the price lowered because he was going through a divorce, and he needed to sell it quick. He said he was a cargo pilot and was always away and wanted to settle the transaction safely through McKinsey and Company, in which he provided a fake link. Now that I have found the post showing that this has happened to other people, I know it is a scam, and I am out two deposits of $2700, and the money shipping fee from Western Union of $191 for each deposit. A total of about $5800.
