Fake car seller uses craigslist & autotrader to steal deposits

Beware people selling cars for much less than book value on craigslist.com and autotrader&they claim to be out of the country and have the car stored at WORLDPAY.com. They send you fake invoices and agreements from Worldpay, which is a business credit card processing copany and DOES NOT handle private transactions or hold merchandise.

The person ripping me off calls himself Merline Alves and said he was in Scotland. Worldpay told me he is a scammer. He almost got a $2,000 deposit from me. He uses photobucket for pics of the car, and [email protected] for his main address.

I have found references in the net to other people doing the same scam.

These people say you can look at the car for 5 days without having to pay the entire amount. They say they are in a divorce and out of the country and need to sell fast at a discount. They ask you to Western UNion the deposit, and Worldpay doesnt accept Western Union&the money goes to a FAKE worldpay address where the scammers get it.
