Fraud and Horrible Work

We contacted The Home Solution Center LLC at the recommendation of Service Magic by way of the internet in early August. David Saldana came to the house and we discussed what we wanted in the way of a room addition. He sent design drawings for our review. After several discussions with him about changes to the design he gave us a price that we agreed to, he also sent a contract detailing every aspect of the addition. The first item on the contract was to pull permits, he later came back and said that he could save us money by not pulling permits because the job was so small he didn't really need them. Not knowing the procedures we agreed to this and saving us $400. The job was started around August 24, and was to be completed in three weeks. The job was never completed as agreed to in the contract.

The subcontractor came and dug and poured the footings and set the pins for the block work. The pins were totally ignored by the blo9ck layers therefore, the addition turned out to be 5 inches out of line with the existing house. This was really not noticeable until the siding and gutters were installed on the addition. After several complaints to David he never returned to the job site and we had problems contacting him. After several electrical, plumbing, and heating and air conditioning problems we found out there should have been permits pulled and each portion should have been inspected. We called the city inspection offices, they came out and found violations in every facet of the job. The electrical and plumbing inspectors came back and corrected the job to code. The air conditioning and heating problem could not be repaired and it cost us another $600 to get that fixed. The tile in the laundry room has cracked as a result of no piers being placed beneath an 18 foot span in the floor. This problem still exists because we have been unable to get any response from David Saldana. The city inspectors office has also been unable to contact him as he will not return their calls. Problems still exist and the job has never been completed according to the contract.
