I hired Bowtie Construction on Augest 2 to remodel my existing bathroom and to put an addition onto the back of my house. A bedroom, bathroom, office, deck patio. He told me that it would be $65,160.00 but if I paid him in cash he would do it for $60,000.00 because he would not thave to pay the taxes on the money.
I gave him $35,000.00 in cash. He started work on the new addition. On September 12 I gave him another $25,000.00. The following week I gave him $2000.00 to do the whole roof instead of just the new addition.
He got the framing, roof, windows, doors, plumbing, electrical done. He did not finish the outside siding and brick. The brick is now leaning because it is not supported well enough. He took down the back wall but has not connected the new addition to the main house. Took out windows in the main house and just put a peice of board over the openings. He did not seal any of them so it is very cold in my house. No other work has been done since that time.
I have called him numerious times but he will not return my calls. Members of my family have also tried to get in touch with him to no avail. Parker Lumber has been calling me wanting to know if I had seen them. He had me put the Building and Electrical permits in my name.
He came on the properity without my knowledge and took all permits and plans. I have talked to 2 of his employees but all they tell me is that I have to speek to Jeromy. When I tell them that he will not return my calls they just say the they dont know what to tell me.
I looked up his liscense and found out that it has been suspended as of Octber 10. He no longer has Insurance! His bond has already been taken by the lumber company. The lumber company has now placed a lean on my home. My utility bills are extremely hight trying to keep the house warm.
I am a single disabled mom raising my grandchildren on SSA and a small Navy check from my exhusband. I am out of resorces and money.
I would appreciate any help you can give me.
