I purchased a Model 100.80002 Kenmore food processor on March 25.in mid-February, it quit working. I called the number listed on the back of the instruction booklet and was advised that the nearest store was in Jesup, GA, and given their telephone number. I then called their number 912-427-2435 to confirm with them what I had been told. On Wednesday, February 23, I boxed up the food processor, along with all attachments, as directed and drove 40 miles to the Sears store in Jesup, Georgia. I was told that they would mail it to the nearest Sears store that could repair it and return it to the Jesup store. On Friday, February 25, I received a call from the Jesup Sears store to come pick up my food processor and take it to the Brunswick, GA store, which is 85 miles from my home. I talked to several levels of customer service representatives, the last two of which were rude and insulting. I was told there was nothing that could be done other than my driving to Jesup, pick up my food processor, and take it to Brunswick. This amounts to over 200 miles of travel for me. I am disabled, on a fixed income, and gas down here is $3.59 a gallon. The warranty clearly states that the item can be taken to any Sears store for repair or replacement. I am totally frustrated! I paid $85.59 for the item and warranty and the product are both worthless.
Please advise as to how I can get this problem rectified.
