We were visiting New Jersey over the Memorial Day weekend. We go to the Best Buy at Woodbridge and select a Samsung Home Theater system on display (HT D6500) priced at $299.00. We ask a customer service personal to check out the item to us. He scans the item, talks to his colleague in muffled voice and tells us they dont have the item in stock. We tell them we are from VA and if any of the stores in VA has it in stock, we can pay here and pick up the item from there. They check and tell us the Sterling branch has 10 left. We ask them to process the amount and they inform us that they cannot process it for a different state. We were confused, but called the sterling Best Buy and asked them to hold a piece for us.

On May 31st, we go to the Sterling Best Buy and see the product on display, same model HT D6500, same price $299.00. We call the customer service to buy the product. He scans it and tells us someone switched the price. I ask him how is it possible that two Best Buy in two different state have the same issue??? I ask to speak to the Store Manger about this issue. Reggina Banks is the store manager we spoke to. We explain to her what happened and ask her to consider matching the price as it seems to be some issue with Best Buy corporate wide and since we saw the price on display in two different store, its only justified that they match the price and then correct the problem. She calls the corporate office and confirms that there was a mistake made corporate wide by Best Buy in placing the incorrect price on the piece i question nation wide. The point to note here is that we are the one who brought this to Best Buys' attention and they were able to correct it due to us. But the sad part is we got nothing out of this. They said they are not able to price match to what was displayed.in fact they did not even show any respect or empathy for all the trouble we took to look for this item and the time we spent around it explaining the situation to them. The store manager should have ideally honored the price since that is what was displayed. But she told us there is nothing she could do about it.

We are left with a very bitter experience with Best Buy Customer Service and want to see some justice here. Please advice and help us with this situation. We also realised that the New Jersey store did have the product in stock, but cheated as they did not want to deal with the hassle of lowering the price and hence gave us a lame excuse that State to State transactions cannot be made in the store.
