Lou Scam

Got contacted by this company in February, sounded like a scam, I told them no. They called back and told me that if I was looking at the information they were looking at, that there is no way that I would not take this opportunity. As with so many of the rest of you, I ended up taking the first step, spent $498 on about 200 magnetic business cards. It took them about 7 weeks just to get them to me, and though they are magnetic, I really wasnt impressed with the workmanship. Black, and white. No color, no creativity. I guess thats what I get for allowing them to design the dern things. But at $3 each, it really wasn't worth it. Well, I decided to see what this "Guaranteed one of five prizes" yeilded. So, I called in and gave them the pass code of CSH-VIP. They told me I was the #1 winner. That some guy 6 years ago had gotten this, and they had sent him over $75,000 over the course of 12 months. The guy had me on the phone for over an hour telling me he wanted to make me the "luckiest guy" in my city. From the start, I was skeptical, so I actually recorded almost the entire conversation. He actually convinced me to take the next step, and buy another box of 500 cards. The initial price being $2980.00. I told him I just couldnt afford that, so he told me to buy half now for $1495, and "Once I have made you the luckiest guy ever, will you buy the other half?" They really are good at what they do, and he convinced me to go ahead and send him out a money order. Apparently they could not accept credit cards because... I couldn't actually get a straight answer from him. He wanted me to send it out today, or tomorow at the latest. Well, I didn't have time today, which was a good thing, as when I got home, I decided to do more research on the company. The first result I got was from the BBB, for All American Advertising, and they had an A rating. So I'm like, hey, maybe these guys are on the level. Then I see that the rating is for a company based in Illinois or something... So, I dig further, and found this, and about 4 other sights with stories that sound like transcripted copies of my own. Thank goodness I did not have the time to send out my money yet, as I am currently only out the initial $498, and I did get some (rather expensive) magnets out of it. Thank you to all the previous posters for telling your story, and warning me away from this danger. To those interested in some kind of class action, I do have an almost hour long recording of them and their high pressure sales tactics... Dunno if it helps, but I will be reporting them to the federal trade comission, the BBB, and the attourney general.
