New Dryer that Doesn't Work

About August 10, I purchased a new GE Washer and Dryer at Best Buy. I had Best Buy deliver and install it. To install it, they had me running all over finding necessary electrical parts (both washer and dryer are electrical, as were the washer and dryer I had before for 12 years with no problems). Best Buy installed both appliances. The dryer worked approximately two times, then it stopped producing heat. I also purchased extended warranties on both items. Best Buy has now made at least three service calls to my house. I've had to pay people twice to be there when I had appointments. GE has been there twice, possibly three times. Best Buy submitted a bill for almost the cost of the washer and dryer together, but were unable to repair the dryer. They said it was GE's fault (a faulty burnt wire). When GE came out to the house once, I was there. The serviceman tinkered for a while, then said there wasn't 240 voltage (which obviously was there because the dryers before worked fine and worked okay at installation). The washer and dryer are on their own, separate circuit-breaker. The GE repairman said he had other stops in the area, and to call him if I could get a repairman in the next couple hours and "good luck doing that." However, I had the electric problem "fixed" within less than ten minutes.

The electrician said it was the oddest thing he'd ever seen as someone had swapped the circuits in the breaker, and once put in their proper place, no problem existed. I called the GE serviceman. He then said the problem was the timer (a part already ordered and replaced by Best Buy). Now, Best Buy, as I wrote earlier, is saying the dryer is unrepairable and it is GE's fault. GE is saying it's my fault, I don't have adequate electrical current (even though my electrical current and circuit breaker kept the previous washer and dryer of the same voltage running for 12 years and the appliances were installed by Best Buy). For seven months I've had a new dryer that doesn't work. On two occasions, I had to pay $200 each time to have someone at the house to meet the servicemen, as I had business appointments. Now, GE is offering this as a settlement: I buy another new dryer at a discounted cost. I don't want the GE appliances, either one. I don't trust GE. I want both appliances removed, and my money for the appliances and the extended warranties refunded. I don't want to pay anymore people to be there for bogus service calls as I've already spent $400 on that. I want all my money refunded, and I want to buy a washer and dryer of another brand name, ones that truly work from day one. I think it is inexcusable that I have a new dryer for seven months that I cannot use. That is not within the realm of even close to reasonable. Best Buy keeps putting me off. I don't want these units repaired with more GE products, as I said. I have blogged about this, talked to Best Buy supervisors (no names) and GE supervisors (no names) for hours and hours with no satisfaction. They could care less whether I'm satisfied, and have made that clear. They want one thing: not even to pass the buck, but to take my bucks home whether the product works or not.
