I went to one of my local Mcdonalds to get my granddaughter a happy meal. While waiting in a drive thru line that was far longer than what any drive thru line should be, I noticed that they were advertising, for a limited time, a free small coffee. That sounded good to me, so I decided to order one. When I got to the area where you pay, I noticed that I was being charged for the coffee. When I inquired about this, I was told that I had to ask for it to be free. What the??? If something is clearly advertised as being free, then why should I have to ask for it? It was obvious that not only the employee, but the MANAGER as well, would much rather "argue" the point than just give the customer what they advertise as being free, so I just told them to take it off my order, which they were more than happy to do. It just amazes me, with the state that our economy is in, and so many businesses going under, companies such as this would want to do everything in their power to have a good PR with their customers.in this case, the customer was clearly "right", but because of the outcome, it makes me hesitant to go back to any Mcdonalds again. Oh - and complaining to corporate did nothing, so obviously there's no need to get a response from them just because I submitted a review - they already had their chance. I think I'll just take my business elsewhere.
