Overpriced magazines purchased, and I haven't received any information in 6 months

I fell for one of the door to door magazine peddlers. She was teenager with a story about gaining money for college. The magazines were overpriced, but I have bought from kids like this before and always received my magazines. I was willing to help, but I am 6 months out from writing my check and still no magazines. I am out about $200, and will never even acknowledge a door to door salesperson again.
After reading more info about these type of scams they seem terrible. Not only for the victim, but for the kids that go door to door.
The website provided is no longer available, and I did reach a recording when I called the phone #. I will continue to call that just to see if I eventually get a human.
