I opened my amex cards three months ago. At first, it was an honor to be a cardmember of the "prestigious" "Amex". That changed very quickly. Within the first month, I was assessed annual fees for both my green and gold cards. I had to call to get it fixed. The lady was helpful and fixed it, but I shouldn't have had to do this. Next, my bonus points were not awarded, even though my expenditures for the first three months met the requirements. Now, just three months after opening my card, my account is "under review" and "on hold" due to needing to "verify income". On top of that, someone fraudulently charged about $6,000 on amex prepaid cards. Amex still has yet to take this off of my statement. Really? This is what I'm paying hefty annual fees for, such treatment? I paid off and closed my green card today. As soon as the fraudulent charges are removed from my gold card, I have every intention to close that card as well. Thanks for nothing. Amex!
