February my sister and I went to a timeshare presentation. We were offered a deal where we could get 150,000 more points for $24000.00. However, we were told it wouldn't cost anything because we could "rent out" our timeshare at $8000/year for 3 years and thereby, it really wouldn't cost anything. When we questioned this proposition, the next manager was called over and he treated the sale rep as if he was not "clear" enough to us and he repeated what we were told. We then talked to Fernando who is the General Manager and he reaffirmed this deal.
Several months went by and we didn't hear anything from El Cid so I phoned numerous times finally getting through to a customer service person at the El Cid Marina. Eventually I was told that the sales representative and his boss were dismissed for lying to customers. They told us that we would get free food for a week for 2 of us next time we came and that was the most they could do for us.
Granted, we were stupid to be so trusting but we owned El Cid and were up grading points. This whole contract was fraud but it wasn't until now that I read other's reports that I realize I should have reported this before.
