This company took money from my checking account with out my knowledge. I first found out they had taken money out of my account when I received my bank statement. To my surprise, I had two charges, one for $49.99 and one for $19.99.
I called the customer service number that my bank provided me. I reached a customer service person and explained my situation. She asked me if I had applied for a pay day loan recently. I did apply for a pay day loan back in December. She told me when I applied for the loan, I also filled out an application for their services (whatever that might be—I still don't know). She told me it was an application within an application (what the heck does that mean). I explained to her that at the time of the pay day loan, I was desperate for money, I would have not authorized to have extra money taken out of my account. She told me I had to of checked a box saying I wanted to be a member of their company (whatever that is). I told her again that was something I did not authorize and wanted to be refunded. When she told me I would have to go through their refund department and they would only refund the $19.99 charge, I asked to speak with a supervisor. She told me there was not one available. When I asked when one would be, she told me they were on the phone and she did not know when they would be finished. I told her I would wait. She told me in a very snotty tone, "If that's what you want to do." Then she came back 5 minutes later and told me they were still on the phone. I continued to wait. She came back a few minutes later and told me a supervisor would talk to me and then hung up on me.
I then went to their website and chatted with a live operator. I asked her if she could give me a copy of the original email that was sent out to me in the beginning. She did not have that information. I asked her if she could tell me what pay day loan company they are affiliated with. She again said they did not have that information. I told her I was notifying the Better Business Bureau. She told me if I would just go through the refund process, they would refund my money, but only the $19.99. She said it was not their fault I did not see the charges on my account sooner. She said I should have canceled sooner. I told her I didn't know the charges were their because I didn't know I signed up. She told me that was not their fault.
I did go and request a refund. I received 2 emails stating they received my request and they approved my request but it did not say an amount that they are refunding. I checked the emails to save them. When I went to the archive in my email box, they were gone? Which I find very strange. I thought maybe I accidentally put it in the trash, but it wasn't there either?
This company took advantage of me when I truly needed money. This company needs to be shut down so that this does not happen to someone else.
