On april 9, my mother (hazel webb) had surgery at roseland hospital (hernia in her stomach) she came out of surgery on a ventilator and in a coma. I as her daughter was never notified by the hospital of her condition. I came to the hospital to see her fhinking she would be in rcovery or back in her room, i was appalled to find out through security that she was in icu. And thats how i found my mother in that condition. After that the lack of communication between myself with the staff and doctors was slack. After that my mother suffered a massive heart attack, i was not told of that condtion until i questioned a nurse about her labs. Because i am a laboratory technician, i am aware what her results meant. The nurse told me my mom had a troponin level of 44, immediately i knew what had happened to her. Neither the doctors or nursing staff was able to tell me when it had occured. My mother remained comatose and on a trachoctomy until the day she died after being transferred to kindred hospital. The treatment i received at roseland hospital as a customer was abhorring. I wish to file a formal complaint against the medical and nursing staff for their lack of communication and inhumane treatment.
