I have been divorced for 5 years. My ex husband and I had a mortgage with WAMU. The divorce decree releases me from responsibility for this mortgage. As part of the divorce my ex husband was required to refinance the loan in exchange for my signature on the Quit Claim Deed.in defiance of the court order he has not refinanced the loan and my name remains on the loan. The only way to get my name off the loan now is for me to take him back to court. I refuse to face him again in court because of physical, verbal, and economic abuse issues. The loan is in good standing and there has never been a late or missed payment in the loan history.
Two months ago Chase Bank started sending me bills for this mortgage. I have contacted Chase representatives in person, on the phone, and over the Internet.in all 3 types of interactions Chase has given me the run around. I made it very clear that I do not expect Chase to remove my name from the loan—they just need to stop sending me the bill. A look at this loan clearly shows a 5 year history of my ex husband writing the payment checks. Chase has sent me responses which say nothing—they are phrases which are clearly copied from a company script.
