My husband and i went in a bankruptcy in 2007. Keep in mind we never owed taxes, federal nor state, allways got a refund.in the process of filing bankruptcy a lady from the okla state tax commission told my lawyers secretary, carol that we needed to ammend our taxes for the year 2001and 2002 or she threatened our bankruptcy will not go through in time and we will loose our home. We dont know who this lady was, but by being stressed and loosing our home i ammended for these years like a dummy and sent them in. All the while telling carol, lawyers sec. This is illegal and not right, well after doing so, it made us owe taxes and it was put into the bankruptcy. When this was dismissed bankruptcy state put a lien on our home property. And we, they stated we owed thousands of dollars. I contacted the federal and discussed this, they claim that federal kicked out the ammended form saying you are ok we never let them go through in the first place, you dont owe anything. I contacted the state tax com telling them we never owed in the first place and want our money back, even sent in federal transcripts to prove it, they stated they go by the federal, then whats the problem? Then i get a state tax lady stating statue of limitation passed the 3 yr, mark, trying to explain we paid in 1200.00-1500.00 dollars we never owed in the first place, have federal docs to proof it and want our money back. How is there a statue limitation if you send in money you dont owe? Got the lien released and state claims we dont owe but refusng to let go of my money paid in. State claims this is complicated? Please, very cut and dry if you have a brain at all. Anyone that can help please contact. Im ready to call channel two news! Wont let this one go! Is the state so hard up for money, that they are willing to rip us off? The answer is hell yes!
