My son is in college and I bought him a new computer. I had a anti virus program put on his system. A message popped up called security tool and told him that his computer had many virus's and he needed to purchase this program to get rid of them. So he pulled out his charge card and did out of fear that he would loose all of his school information on his system. The program cost him $79.95 and said he had a year before he had to renew it. Than after that, it started to slowly eat away at his system and kept prompting him that his computer was infected. If he clicked the fix it now button, it would ask for more money. When he would get out of that, it took over his computer and slowly air messages from the company kept popping up and it took over the system. I than looked it up on the internet after he told me about it and found out that it was a Hoax. I could not get it off his system and had to pay a company to completely take it off. I think it is ashame that kids in college have to worry about companies like this. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. When I called the number that they give for problems with this false company. It says that, 'Your call can not be completed as dialed". If something can be done I would like some help to stop this company so parents and Children do not have to worry about it out of fear for their information.
