Me, my mother, my two brothers and my friend went to Walmart, and once we got in my mom was looking for a mobility scooter but could not find one. After waiting for about a half and hour she finally got her scooter. My friend and I went to the deli to get something to eat, and decided to get some barbecue chicken. We handed the woman a 10 dollar bill to pay for our $4.00 chicken, but she refused it and told us to 'pay over there'. So we decided we would pay later. We went to subway to eat at one of the tables because, we weren't going to sit on a bench and eat a tub of chicken. My friend got up and paid for a slushie as some weird man walks in stating that he was 'Waiting for the Wife' to one of the wal-mart employees. We ate for about 20 minutes and the man seemed to be listening to our conversation, it got weirdly uncomfortable, so we left. We gave the half filled tub of chicken to my brothers, who, ate the rest. We walked through wal-mart talking and waiting for my mom to finish shopping, and once she was done we went to the checkout, and walked toward the doors. "Stop this is Wal-Mart Security. We would like to ask you about some un-paid for merchandise, we'll need ou to step in to the office." The middle aged man said. He had been following us around Wal-Mart acting like a customer seeing if we would 'steal the chicken' "umm... What?" I asked. We stepped in to the tiny office. The walls were stained and the desk was messy. An old man stepped in beside the man. My mother opened the door asking what they were doing. "Doing our job, ma'am." They asked us where we lived and when we were born and our phone numbers, etc. My mother was upset at this point and told them that they were mistaken and that we clearly didn't intend to steal their 'merchandise. The middle aged man told my mom she could leave the room, which made her even more irritated, and she told them that she refused to leave two teenage girls alone with two old men. Once we were done, we asked if we could go back and pay. But they told us we couldn't. My friend and I left to the car and waited. Meanwhile, my mom walked to the register and tried to pay for it. My brother had dug the empty tub of chicken out of the trash to pay for it. They refused to have it payed for. My mom asked that she could talk to the manager. Once the manager came, she stated that my brother looked both ways before throwing the 'stolen chicken' away, because she saw it on the video. There were two stands for free samples across from each other, and he asked one lady where the garbage was, and the other lady answered. So it *looked* like he was looking both ways. He had no idea we didn't pay, so he threw it out.
The manager told us that we were on a 'list' and that if we 'caused any more trouble' that we would go to jail. They then opened a drawer, stuck the empty tub for barbecue chicken in it, and locked it up.
My friend and I are now on a list, they have our picture and a video, our information, and the empty bucket.
