I thought i finally found a decent dry cleaner in NY — who knew this would be an almost impossible feat!
Upon machine pressing my hubby's shirts the machine left a large stain. This has happened 2x — and when i brought the shirt back - they told me that although they would reclean the shirt this time, it is not their policy to do that and that next time I would have to pay for the shirt to be cleaned again. They clearly confirmed that the cause of this was that the machine left the stain — BUT because they charge so "little" to machine press - i would have to pay for the repair cleaning. She told me I should opt for the more expensive hand pressing (about 5x price) and then i would not have this problem. I explained that if they are selling this service, i, of course deserve to have it done correctly and should not have to pay for their error. She told me that this happens 1 in every 10 times - so they need to charge the customer. I said why not clean the machine - or look at the garment before you send it back to the customer. I told her that i was sorry for them that this was their policy, i have been a great customer and now i would not be able to return. They cleaned the shirt and returned it with a broken button. Too bad.
