Before I begin my analysis of Aventura’s Origin, I must first admit that I initially embarked upon the company Origins in Century City Mall located in Los Angeles, CA, when looking for a new skin care product. It’s welcoming environment and customer service impressed me greatly. My first visit to Orgins in Los Angeles was superb, this is what made me rave of their product to my friends the next day at lunch. But this was far from reality of Origins in Aventura Mall.

When I walked into the store, I was welcomed with a snide attitude from the sales representative. It was nothing she said, it was the look on her face. I quickly let that go. However, when it was time to ask questions regarding my sought after product, I noticed she reveled more of her snootiness.

The representative told me they were out of the product I asked for (this was the long and short of her response). I was stunned and waited for her to say something more. She then added, “You can go to another store or find it online”, in a very sharp tone. After recovering my senses, I asked if she had a comparable product to the one I sought and her response was just as rude. “We have no products like that one”.

Each time I asked her a question, she gave a long pause and a smirk. It made me feel very uncomfortable to say the least, and I began to wonder what nerve I had to ask this woman a question. I then quickly stated, “You know what, I’ll find it online.” and I left the store.

After several minutes of being in shock and totally stunned, I stormed back into the store and demanded to speak to the manager.

“Well, she’s in a conference.” the rude sales representative replied. She gave a smirk, “Would you like her card? ”

“No”. I said. “I would like to speak to her”.

The sales rep gave me a look. How dare you! But then went to the back to get the manager.

The manager came out and introduced herself. She was very pleasant and helpful. We spoke on the problem, and lack of customer service, in which she apologized several times. She then continued to rectify the issue by provided me with two samples of the product I requested. She explained they were doing inventory, and that particular product wouldn’t be available for another week. The samples she gave me would be enough to hold me over until their shipment arrived. It was enough to satisfy me, and I thanked her and moved on, wondering the whole time, why the sales rep couldn’t have done the same.

My first visit to Origins in Los Angeles was superb, this is what made me rave of the product. My second visit to Origins in Aventura was horrendous, this will make me never go to that store again. Keep in mind… word of mouth advertising can make or break a business.
