Luv Homes
Cheated and took advantage of me. They got my trust, and then my money, and then cut me off

My husband & I purchased a home from Luv Homes a little over 2 yrs
ago. We have had terrible service from this company from the moment
papers were signed, purchasing the home. Our loan for this home was with
one of their financing companies. (Vanderbuilt financing) We had borrowed an additional amount
of money for land improvements (Septic tank, water lines, and power
lines). Our home set on our property for almost 8 months before it was
fully functioning. All the time we were making payments on this house
but having to live in a RV with no water and little heat in a time of year when it was greatly needed. Our home was moved and set on our property
in December but we didn't receive electricity for approximately 2
months and did not have running water until around the end of May. This
was all do to difficulty in getting the extra money we had borrowed to
take care of these things. Our septic was installed a couple of months
later, after we had to plead with them repeatedly. They finally called
and made arrangements for our septic to be installed. We were never able
to handle any of these matters ourselves because they would not allow
us to handle any of the extra money we borrowed. They hired people to come
install a septic system that was not the right septic system for our
type of ground. We had borrowed enough extra to get an aerobics system septic tank. This was not what we got in the end
and the results of that is water that stands in our yard year round. We
had water leaks through out the whole house almost immediately after
getting water turned on. Since our home was still under warranty we
called many times trying to get someone out to fix these problems &
after calling repeatedly they finally sent someone out about 6 weeks
later. The leaks by then had caused damage and we were told the floors
would be replaced in both of our bathrooms. However, one bathroom is
still yet to be fixed. All of our doors leading to the outside have
problems shutting. Our sliding glass doors have major gaps at the
top, letting in bugs and hot or cold weather. We are now looking at
having to tear out our shower and replace the whole floor in our
bathroom ourselves. (although we do not have the finances for this). We
had set up with a meeting with Michael, the sales manager, and told him
how we had been treated and that we had came across some things that
were not as agreed on in our house. We were told that with Southern
Energy Homes (this is the brand of our home) that we would get plywood
floors instead of particle board flooring, that linoleum was laid
through out entire home under the carpet to help protect the floor, we
had requested Pex piping to be put in place of the regular water/sewage
lines because pex pipe will not bust and agreed to pay the
difference. After our water leak problems we discovered we did not
actually get any of these things. We were also told our cabinets and
trim would be real oak and it is not. We paid over $117,000 for a "mobil
home" because we were told we were getting a quality that we did not in
fact get. We would have never paid this amount for this home for this
quality had we known what we were really getting. We were tricked by a
sales person who pretended to be taking care of us and getting us the
best but in reality, just wanted to make money. My husband and I are
young and this is our first home, an occasion which should be happy and
fun but in fact was quit the opposite. After meeting with the sales
manager we were assured things would be made right but now a year
later, promise was not kept. If we had it to do over again we would have
not purchased this home. It is beautiful but not the quality that was
promised and certainly not $117,000 worth. One of the reasons we went with a mobile home was because we could not afford the payments on a regular house. As it is, we now have a payment of almost $900 a month on this mobile home which is almost more than we can pay. (doesn't leave us with much spending money) And on top of all of this we have had to replace water pipes, electric and light fixtures (do to sparking/fire hazards) and now fixing to have to replace flooring. Keep in mind our home is only 2 yrs old. Luv homes ripped us off and took advantage of a young couple. They got their money and then never would fix anything that was broken (even when our house was under warranty) avoided us and never would return calls. This place is a big scam. My husband and I are christian and wouldn't wish anything bad on anybody. But for them I'll make an acceptsion. I hope one day they will get what's coming to them.
