Today, myself and a 2nd worker, by the name of ARLENE AUGUSTIXE a NATIVE INDIAN WOMAN aft cleaning the 3 floor, s which was our responsibility to do SO. Because of the Science Fair that was being held on the 1st floor, it left us 2 hrs, in which to do nothing. As it is I am a {PROFESSIONAL CLEANER} and have been doing this for over 20 years. The bldg that I am speaking of, is the J.C. IRVING BLDG, located at university ave. The supervisor name which is NANCY BERNIER. Wanted us to go outside and clean the property. I said 'NO' simply because, that was not hired to do.in my opinion, that is the responsibility of the ground keeper, s... The time of this was approximately, 10;45.. We went to lunch, which was from 11;00 until 11;30.. Than we went back to the ground floor, in which ARLENE, swept the back stairs and i cleaned the display area. The time we finished was abt 1;00. Rather than sit for 2 hour, s wth absolutely nothing to do. We decided to go and see Nancy. Whom we met up in the hall way. She did ask how Arlene was feeling, as she is a DIABITIC. NANCY mentioned seeing our coats wth us, and i said to her, that the bldg was completely finished. Her reply was for us to clean the graval, from between the door, s and to remove gum from the stairs, which there none. So i suggested for her to dock us for those 2 hour, s. HER REPLY WAS I cannot. As she turned to leave we clearly heard her tell us to{ fuck-off] and get out of here... As Arlene and I turned to leave I ask her, {arlene} IF I HAD HEARD WHAT I THOUGHT I HAD HEARD. Her reply was [yes]... And because of that, Arlene figured that we were fired... We walked to the Security office, which was located on the other side of the main road.., during this I had noticed Nancy walking behind us. A s we were exiting the bldg, she looked at Arlene, and said your fine. She left to get her bus... SHE turned to me and told me i was fired... And she stormed away... Now in my PROFESSIONAL opinion, when I first started working there. The bldg in mention, was filthy, On the 2nd floor alone I had to deal wth dead and living flies for the first 2 week, s. It was common to find anywhere between 8 to 12 flies on a continuous basis. It was plain to see that the offices had not been cleaned properly, in over a month, or longer... The dust was so heavy, that i had to use a wet rag, on a continuous basis. The carpets, were dirty, the bathrooms, were clean. As there were several complaints from the employee, s abt the problem, in mention. And the dirtiness of it, But were [THANKFULL] for it finally being cleaned...
