We received poor Quality material and had the sales rep out to decide what should be done. We had the packages open and laid out on stands to be stained, he could clearly see that 2 to 3 boards per package were damaged at least 50%. Rather than load everything up and return it he agreed to give a replacement of one board per package, with us using what we could from the damaged boards. The result was 30 packages they owed us. When we were ready for the material they refused to honour the deal they had made leaving us with no choice but to purchase the material as the job was more than half finished. We have tried to complain to the company above the store level but have been stone walled. They have a complaint system where you email or mail in the complaint it goes to one man named Ray. The policy is for Ray to refer the problem back to the store manager.in this case the store manager told us to deal with his sales rep who made the deal with us but the store manager has refused to honour it. Menards complaint department routinely refers the complaints to the person we are complaining about. I have asked several times to have some one other than Mike Day deal with this but recieved the response that it would be refered to the store manger Mike Day, it apears the emails are not even read. We have yet to resolve this matter.-We ordered material from the sales rep as instructed by Mike Day to give us better service and free delivery but we received a delivery charge because they used a carrier rather than the rep delivering, this was not our agreement and they refuse to refund the charge.-We priced matched material from home depot, Mike Day agreed to meet the price then charge a higher price.-We returned material and were not given the purchase price on the returns (this happened several times.)-Most of the problems were left unchecked because we never received receipts for the material purchased or returned. After months of complaints and requests for the reciepts we have started to receive some of them. This is where we are finding all the mistakes that have made. We have been overcharged, under returned, lied to and treated with a great deal of disrespect thru the tone of the emails from Mike Day. My Company can afford to lose the money Mike Day of Menards has refused to credit back to us. What concerns me the most is Menards complaint department, with one person to field the complaints and a policy to send it back to the store manager regardless if he is the problem and when a complaint remains unresolve they have no alternate course of action. The general public is unaware of this and should be informed.
