Dorian Gutierrez called me Thanksgiving week of 2009. I was offering my purebred, solid white akita for stud in a few months. Dorian contacts me, and says he will be bringing his female to my home the next day. My male was only 9 months old, and unproven at the time. I had hoped to have his first litter at a year old, but figured that he WAS able to produce, and as his female had had 3 previous litters, she would be a wonderful way to have him proven.
Well, he brings his female to my home, a fawn, black overlay, black masked female. He tells me that she is 4 years old, and has had 3 litters. Typically, females are not bred until a minimum of a year and a half of age, preferably 2, and should have at least 1 heat cycle between litters. So either this gorgious female was bred too early, or too often, as this would be her 4th litter in nearly 5 years.
He did not bring her papers or pedigree with him so I could research the pedigree.
