Last Airbender and other movies - Movies-Air Bende

I have noticed a trend that has begun when Disney or their parent corporation buys out or partners up with another organization. Let's start with Pixar. Their shorts and original movies were well done and quite entertaining. However when they were joined to Disney it seemed they had sold their creativity to the best bidder and were then forced to become the bland which is much of what Disney produces. (Fine for the 7 and under crowd.) I have yet to see another Pixar movie after that. Tempted by Toy Story 3 but unwilling to pay the 9.25 price for a disappointment. Next lets look at the series of the Chronicles of Narnia. Unfortunately in such a creative time with great visual effects the last Narnia movies were closer to the book and more entertaining. Then we have to Disney it up and add romance and weird send off music. Not going to see the next one. Apparently I am not the only one in my community who feels this way. Finally we come to the Last Airbender. Thank goodness I did not pay the 12.5o to see it in 3-D or I would be more annoyed. How someone as talented as M Night Shyamalan has reduced himself to such crap is beyond me. The characters were all flat including the air bender. The action scenes were subpar and the visual effects left something to be desired. I felt like I was watching the movie, Left Behind. I am extremely disappointed and was so 20 minutes into the movie. I had become a fan of his work and loved the suspense his writing brought. This story was very cookie cutter and could have been so much more. I am so tired of Disney expanding themselves and turning creativity into a generic form. Do you still receive a lot of income from such old school nostalgia? I truly wish that we could leave some of the generic formulas out of what could be extremely creative and exciting work. There is a reason Avatar did so well. I would like my money back and more creative freedom to those who have unfortunately fallen under your power. (Sixth Sense, The Village, Geri's Game.
