Maytag Dishwasher - Home Decor/Small Applicances

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher from the N. Spokane Home Depot, to include "professional installation". We paid extra for this service. The Home Depot sales associate assured us that their installers were thoroughly screened, licensed, and insured. Our Maytag was delivered by Mayfair Moving Company??? And the "installer" was their delivery person??? The Maytag was installed incorrectly and in violation of a number of City & State Safety Code Sections. Our plumbing outlet was cross-threaded, leaked all over our cabinet floors with resultant damages. The dishwasher was installed incorrectly to a blocked drain line and backed up with water when in operation. The wiring was installed in a very hazardous manner under the "wet" dishwater. The State of Washington issued 3 major code violations to the "professional installer" and Home Depot. The plumbing had to be professionally repaired/replaced at our cost. The "future" damage due to rot and/or mildew is yet to be determined. We were assured by Home Depot at the time of our purchase that Home Depot used only licensed installers. This was an absolute lie as per the issued citations by the State. The Maytag was returned to Home Depot and a Whirlpool from Sears was installed, correctly, to Code, and by a verified licensed installer. Moral of the story: "Home Depot is deceptive, utilizes non-licensed installers (as per my experience), and the resultant damages could be substantial. I will forward a copy of my State complaint with full details to anyone who would like a copy via PDF. Dr. Tom
