Gold Fellow, www.goldfellow.com, tries to mislead you into thinking they are going to pay you top dollar for your gold but that is a bold face lie. They are almost as bad as Cash4Gold. They try to mislead you into a bunch of mumbo jumbo talk about how studies have shown they pay more than all their competitors, but it is all a lie. They will also mislead you into the amount of gold contained in the pieces you sent in. I took my pieces to a local jeweler before sending them to Gold Fellow and got an offer and written appraisal for the amount of gold contained in the pieces. Then I shipped the pieces off to Gold Fellow. Gold Fellow misstated the weight of the gold buy 35%!! Yes, their price per pennyweight is OK, but they lie to you about how much true gold is contained in your jewelry. That's how they rip you off! When I got their offer I tried to correct them but they just told me take it or leave it. Obviously I refused and to their credit, they did return my pieces. I was actually afraid they would "lose" them like you hear happening with other Gold Buying Companies.
My advice is to stay away from these guys and if you use them or any gold buying service, get your pieces appraised by a respected local jeweler first. You will be surprised at the various means these companies like Gold Fellow use to rip you off!
