I saw a listing for a secretary job for a child daycare company called "TKO Sunshine Childcare" on Craig's List so I sent a cover letter and resume via email. I received an email back that seemed to be a script:

My name is Michael Bhad and I am the hiring Manager for this department, I will also be the one that will be setting up your interview. Like our ad already mentioned we are hiring for both full time and part time positions that need to be filled as soon as possible (we do fully understand if you need to wait 2 weeks to start to be able to put in a 2 week resignation notice with your old employer).
I actually overlooked all the information that you submitted to us and i would like to schedule a interview as soon as possible! Would you be able to take 1 hour out of your busy schedule and be able to come in for a personal interview within the next couple of days? While overlooking all of your information i noticed that you are not authorized by the NSOCBO (National Sex Offender and Criminal Background Organization) to work with us yet and due to our policies and regulations by law I am not allowed to schedule an interview until you are verified and authorized. Since you will be working close to and with children, verification is one of our requirements before I am even allowed to let you into the building as an applicant. So if you are really interested in interviewing with us I must ask you to visit www.nsocbo.org and verify yourself and then email me back to set up a interview date and time.in average, the process takes 5-10 minutes to complete and all you have to do is click "Personal Verification". Don't worry about printing out the verification paper since it will be emailed directly to us. You have to make sure to put us as a reference (TkoSunshine Childcare) otherwise we will not receive the email!
Let me give some details about the position:
We are looking for a honest and self motivated individual that would be able to handle our front desk position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Answering the phone, setting up appointments, handle invoices for parents etc. Experience with common office programs would be preferred, however we are more then willing to train you in areas that you do not feel comfortable yet.
Now again. I would love to schedule you for an interview but i will not be able to do so unless we receive the NSOBCO paperwork. I will be holding your application on my desk for 24 hours waiting to receive the paperwork, before I will have to contact another candidate so please do not wait to long. I proceeded to go to the website and began to fill out my information, and sure enough, further into the "registration" they asked to verify my age of 18 or older by submitting a bank account number! This shouldn't be required to get a job! Scam!!!
