I attended Everest Institute from 11-08 in the Dental Assisting program. I have been unable to find a position in dental assisting because of the school's reputation it's self. At every Interview that I have had I have been turned away at the door as soon as they have learned where I went to school.
I had obtained a job as a Hyginist assistant, but with the economy the position didn't last long, only 7 months. I have been searching, but to no avail. When I do get the interview, as soon as they learn where I learned my training, the door is shut in my face with no return calls.
At my externship place, they told me that I had excellent skills, but they couldn't hire me because of the economy, I am still out there and doing my best to aquire a position in this field, but to no avial.
They made lot's of promises to us, like helping us find positions, but they don't care, they already have their money and go on to the next victium. Now I am stuck paying my loans and with no job it is close to impossible to repay them. What am I susposed to say to those people when they want their money and I cannot pay because I cannot find work?
When I had the work I was good at it, loved it as a matter of fact! What they don't tell you is that you can get the same education from your community college at a lot cheaper rate. It costs $25,750. To go to Everest. It costs $2,500. To attend the community college. Big difference!!
