In August my husband and I decided to do some major renovations to our already existing pool. After speaking with numerous contractors we decided to go with Kings Pools in Lake Hopatcong, NJ. Andreas Christodoulou, the owner, seemed to be very knowledgeable and on the plus side, seemed to want to help us out as much as he could because my husband was a veteran who had recently returned home from Afghanistan. After we gave him a $10,000 deposit and signed the contract in September Andreas finally showed up in December to start the job. We called many times before this but he claimed he was finishing another job. He worked for a few days, stopped working, and disappeared for weeks.By the time we finally heard from him again the ground was snow covered and he assured us he would start working again once the fall came.
When he finally showed up again a routine started. He would show up, work for a few days, ask for more money, get the money from us, say the pool would be done in two weeks, then not show up for another couple weeks. When we finally refused to give him more money he disappeared again. He said he needed to start other jobs in order to get the money to finish ours. After researching Andreas I found out he has done this to other people numerous times in the past.in 1990s with the name Majestic Pools Andreas accumulated $80,000 in judgments which he eliminated with bankruptcy. Then as Andreas Pools he claimed bankruptcy again in 2004. Now as King's Pools he is doing it all over again. Its now Feb. we are out of thousands of dollars, and have nothing but a mess in our backyard to show for it. We have found another reliable company to finish Andreas's mess but I want to get the word out before Andreas Christodoulou takes advantage of anyone else. Please do not trust this man!!!
