We received a letter from Ufirst Direct a department of Christian M. Dillon Attorney At Law offering to provide a loan modification to get us out of an ARM loan and into a conventional 30-year fixed rate loan. We were pre-approved!
Calif. State Bar Assoc. Gave Mr. Dillon a 98% rating and so we paid his office $3950.00 to handle our loan modification. Three months into the process a foreclosure notice was posted on the front door.
After many telephone calls and getting passed around and retelling the story to many different people we were told it was part of the 'process'. This was news to us!
Over the next several months Mr. Dillon changed office locations 4 times along with telephone numbers and reassigned different 'agents' to our case. It require our tracking him down to find this out.
Our next surprise was a dated, auction notice posted to the front door. Again, after many calls we were told Ufirst direct was no longer part of Mr. Dillon's practice. They went out of business.
After no response from Mr. Dillon's office we called our lender and found out that our attorney had defaulted on paper work and our case was closed. Our home was scheduled to be auctioned off.
It has been a year since we first signed the 'contract' for Mr. Dillon to modify our loan and we still have no rsolution. The lender has been trying to work with us by placing a hold on the sale twice.
We can not even begin to explain the stress and health problems and financial problems this has placed upon myself and my husband. And, no one seems to be able to do anything about it.
